No news here. It scared the hell out of me, but nothing bad happened. It was only a magnitude 5.4 and the epicenter was about 40 miles away, but it felt pretty damn strong. Simon's first earthquake!
The only consequence: I was so shaken it took me 25 minutes to remember what I had been doing when the shaking began. I finally remembered when I noticed a used nursing pad on the ground near the trash can. That's it: I had been replacing a nursing pad. I had thrown the old one away and had missed the trash can, and while I was leaning over to pick it up the earthquake struck.
